When I initially read the story I thought so as well. One of the “fuckers”, Perry Waring is Black and a descendant of slaves. That made me furious as in how could he turn his back. Then I read the NY Times article which stated Councilman Waring wanted more to be done to empower the city’s African American community.

Apparently these things just do not psychologically impact children. Neither do the killings of black adults and children themselves. These incidents do not rip families apart, they do not leave emotional scarring. Therefore there will be no politicians adding to the groundswell of voices pleading for this to stop.
