This is the third Funnel Web we've found in our house this month. Our girls (10 and 7) are well versed in what spiders are friendly (Daddy long legs) and which ones are not (Funnel Webs being from the later grouping).

Australian speaking. This is a totally legit reason for people to complain. The spiders here will fuck your shit up. I had a friend who got bitten by a spider (redback I think?) on camp once. It melted all the skin on that part of his cheek. It is now a hideous scar.

Same here, grew up in North Bay, moved to London when I was 22-ish. Always a get kick out of people calling North Bay, or hell even Barrie, as "way up North." I'm like jesus, you realize North Bay to Timmins is like 5 more hours right? And almost a day's drive from North Bay to Thunder Bay? It's hard to have

I seem to remember that the floating eggs were for 'older' as in 'so old they are bad' and will float???

"Old" eggs don't necessarily float, but rotten ones do. Eggs that are old but still good may stand upright at the bottom of the bowl of water, while new ones will generally lay on their side.

Oh, good, it wasn't just me. I also just made a comment that I initially thought both the characters were girls.

?! I want to see what's behind those doors. I hope they continue this story.

we don't always get everything right, but when we do it's pretty epic.

The Secret of NIHM.

NO.

I'm not pro-docking, by any means. I really don't feel like it's a nice thing to do to the dog. That's BS that it doesn't hurt them. Although a lot of people make the same arguments about human babies and how they can't feel pain... ugh.

My pup's tail was docked when he was a few days old, so by the time I got him at 8 weeks, that was that. But he's also a working bird dog and was docked like other bird dogs are — leaving the majority of the tail and only docking the thin last bit that is prone to get injured in the brush (breed standards for this

In some breeds it is a necessity. I have boxer that was not docked as puppy. Undocked boxers have long tails that are whip like. If you have ever seen a boxer when its happy their whole backend moves quickly, now add a whip the end of that motion. I received bruises and marks from my excited boxer's tail as did others

I agree with this article about 90%, people docking dog's tails because it "looks better" are assholes. I can't though agree with banning it 100% in the case of some breeds where having a large, powerful tail is actually a safety issue for the dogs themselves. A good friend of mine rescued a great dane that didn't

Personally, I find it hilarious. To each his, her, or its own, I guess.

"Mr. Whispers" is an adorable name for a cat and/or a frightening name for a human.
