Very true. There's a few reason, I think. Nevin didn't want to be a target. Nevin thought super charging the monster will get Ichabbie killed a lot faster. Nevin didn't know about the weakness & figured it would be safer inside the monster.

I'm ok with Ichabod being Tuxedo Mask. :-D
