Are their really enough Oligarchs and Chinese industrialists for there to be 6 way competition? People wonder why the full-sized sedan is dead in the US, and I wonder if part of it is the cost-spiral and feature creep in a direction that doesn’t really resonate with US/European buyers....

The Mechanicals are the same,off-road feature set is the same, and the LX tends to have a few more cabin comfort goodies. Also, perversely, I’ve seen LXs run cheaper on the used market because not everyone is aware that they’re LCs under the skin. So yes, you should probably buy an LX.

The overarching issue is that banks won’t write a collateralized loan on something that they can’t easily determine the value of.
