Regarding the controls, the layout for previous Smash games were different because the controllers were different, since the 3DS has a cross shaped button spread (like the PS3 or the Xbox), you get used to jump with A (X on the PS3 and A on the Xbox).

Feel free to disagree, but one thing I love about Destiny is that it doesn't blurt out all of it's secrets. You don't automatically get told about gold chests, but the first one is in your path on a story mission. You don't go everywhere on a map in story missions alone, but if you level up and explore there are

NO ONE should be upset about Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, or Lucina. If you take them out, and the Mii fighters who are only in during matches with Customizations, you have 45 characters which is exactly 10 more than Brawl, which had exactly 10 more than Melee. Clearly the final roster was that 45 without the 3 clones.

I sincerely hope that unlocking all the characters is easy. I can imagine this scenario playing out all over the world:

Prince Charming: so it's a crime to not want to date someone you find unattractive? Lolwut?

WORD. I think if empowering women and 'equal treatment' is what the ladies want, they will get it from me.

I asked a question. You avoided it. I pointed this out. You resorted to personal attacks. You're a cool guy. I'll be a cool guy too now.

You are, frankly, an ignorant fool.

I see it as Belle being a very smart person. It was either a life of luxury where she could afford to learn, or marry an asshole like Gaston and end up churning out baby after baby after baby after baby after baby after baby and thus be too busy raising them to even lift a book.

Meh, I've had the pleasure of playing the thing for nearly a year, I wouldn't trade that for a free game.

I get where you are coming from. When people say social justice buzzwords like 'white Cis' as a way to denounce someone, that is an ironic double whammy of sexism and racism all in one. Extremists should just tone it down, otherwise it just sounds like another form of hate speech, even if they go by the banner of

That's why I am kind of scared when I see how Neogaf, Polygon, Escapist and some other sites handles it, because they have moderators and fairly radical feminists trolling the bridge to see if someone 'messes up' and they get all hostile on any kind of 'wayward' post about 'why do you feel that way'. And if the answer

Agreed. Instead of being reactive, perhaps being proactive would be nice. Choosing the wrong person to write an article about, however, would backfire hugely. Staying away from anyone making headlines for other reasons or "internet celebrities" would be a good idea, at least temporarily.

I mean, you can't really do gaming journalism without opinions, and I don't mind that. I know that Jason Schreier's opinion on a certain JRPG will without a doubt be different than say... Yahtzee Croshaw's. And that is an awesome thing, I love reading about different games from different viewpoints!

No, but I've met people who don't think that Majora's Mask is the best Zelda, yet I still find it in my heart to believe they're good people. It's tough.

Also, I will post this message again, because this thread is getting a little more attention, and I believe this is something aomebody on staff should read:

I'd like to see more positive pieces about women in gaming. The negativity can be incredibly tiring, and sometimes the tone some pieces take just aren't really conductive to changing things.

Well I guess we're not paying attention to the article that's negating the entire games industry, saying that gamer identity is over, which would mean that all video games should strive for is appeasing activists and games journalists. That article is the single greatest piece of crap that has ever appeared on this

I really appreciate this post, Stephen.

I think there's something missing from this discussion- JRPG's don't have to be cinema. They don't have to be Hollywood. They sure as hell don't have to be set in some sort of futuristic setting.
