Plenty of detail and thought went into the story. I’d say it clearly took more planning than the first game’s story. I get that people have problems with where they took characters in the game, but the idea that the story wasn’t well thought out is just negative hyperbole.

Yeah, let's mock those dummies who were excited about something! Who do they think they are?

Maybe the dozens of videos and articles blaming Sony for retailers breaking street date and stock selling out were wrong... Maybe it’s not Sony, or Nvidia, or MS’s fault. Maybe it’s been the scalpers all along, and retailers have to figure out a way to prevent that, though they probably don’t care.

Strange people aren’t seeing the difference here. Sony and their dev partnerships are different than MS just buying up devs and now a large publisher so they can control the IP. Lionhead, Rare, decimated. Sure, Mincraft is everywhere bc it makes them money, but that’s the extent of it. Sony’s devs were encouraged

Those studios/developers had close relationships with Sony with exclusive development, and have continued to thrive after being bought. How’s Rare? Lionhead? Sure, Obsidian seems to have 2 games coming out, and with Minecraft’s autonomy there’s a chance they treat Bethesda the same. But Sony wouldn’t buy a big

My honest answer is that because Switch games don’t have to download on the console/SC card if you have the physical, I buy more physical games so I don’t have to worry about storage. Regardless, consumers should have the choice and not worry about FOMO or scalpers.

Gave you a star because I meant to say “didn’t”, but of course can’t edit it now. Otherwise I think the rest of my point stands.

Oh, sure, and they no doubt witheld the release date for far too long, leading retailers to act foolishly. But at least Sony tried a better solution. Nintendo with 3D All Stars, the new 30's GPU’s, terrible, terrible. I know MS “tweeted some shade” at Sony saying they’d do better but I’m sure it will be a clusterfuck

Yup, I got the follow up email with the url that I’ll use tomorrow.

Same! Best Buy canceled my MM 3DS like a week after I placed the preorder, and by then they were obviously sold out everywhere. Will never forget that. But Nintendo is only making things worse for us (and better for scalpers) with the 3D Mario All-Stars. It's almost engineered with disdain for the consumer and

It really is a shame, although unsurprising, that retailers bungled up PS5 preorders. I'll get to place my preorder from Sony directly tomorrow, and like the article states, how Sony set it up to ensure people who actually want the console to play it can order it stress free is amazing. Scalpers are scum, but the

Wow, Rise looks great! Excited for both. Definitely will play Rise docked however, lol. March is so soon, which is fantastic, but I was hoping we'd have news of a new Switch model already. Wouldn't mind a performance boost to play it!

Answer: Since OP did state that only Sony lies, and if I had only given an example of MS’s worse tactics in conference presentations that needed to be later clarified, then I would concede that what I said could be viewed as whataboutism.

Please, as if Microsoft’s several years of EXCLUSIVE* E3 trailers weren’t worse.

Maybe! They seemed to have good connections too with how they partnered on the chip development. The SSD is fast and likely pricey, but the GPU is less powerful too, right? So there might be parity there in cost. We’ll see!

Yeah, this has to be why they waited until just over 2 months to announce the price. The suspicion that they were playing chicken was valid. I’m not sure what Sony will do. Perhaps they heard murmors of a $299 version and were spooked for a while. But they increased their production a while back, so they’re still

I still say that without Halo (and obviously the Xbox Live combo), gaming might have a way different landscape. That game helped shape their entire brand and ethos. I could see Xbox having floundered easily without that one game. Maybe exclusives don’t matter as much anymore, but they definitely mean something!

All great points! I definitely have been very happy with PS4, and yeah, it seems like a lot of their decisions have been reactive like you said. Both companies do that to each other a bit, but it’s clear to me the XBO’s launch hurt it far more that the PS3's launch did to it by the end, even if that is still mocked

Lol that’s true. I wouldn’t mind it being early next year instead. There’s admittedly little in the way of launch games anyway. But that holiday season and all those units already in production couldn’t be stopped.

No matter how much better the XBSX’s GPU is, if the PS5's SSD is really as impressive as they say, I’m far more excited for the benefit of no load times. Time will tell, but for OG units (and not Pro versions that come out later), graphical differences have always been minimal. That performance change could be huge.
