Off-Topic: Kotaku, why are there so many greys? I’ve been a commenter for years (had to switch accounts when you got hacked), and I was made grey again a year or two ago. Looking at Heather’s recent RDR2 opinion piece, the amount of greys are astounding. Doubly so when you realize how many of them can also have

Without spoiling much, I’ve had a couple encounters that absolutely refute this viewpoint entirely. There are NPC’s who you interact with for no personal gain, and go about their lives. I’m just not really sure what you would want otherwise, considering how this game sets a new bar for such immersion.

Very well said! Thanks for the response.

Agreed 100%. Kotaku has a good team that can do great things, but sometimes they get in their own way, when really I just want a review of the game. The compliments definitely feel as they were made begrudgingly, or under scrutiny. You summed it up well. After skimming some more, there was literally pretense in his

Reading the beginning of this was as laborious as it was made to seem to review the game itself; ‘unnerving shimmers’ of detail, ‘exhaustive’, to then bring up again the controversy surrounding the game’s development. Ugh. Just so - for lack of a less overplayed word - pretentious. Poor guy, reviewing Read Dead

While it seems evident that crunch is a common factor at a majority of game dev companies (with varying degrees of quality of output), it’s also obvious that Rockstar creates some of the most successful and acclaimed games in the industry. Jason covered this, but it’s a tough question. They seem to have been pretty

It seems like a tough sell either way. Either it’s encouraged speech by current employees (who aren’t discouraged from speaking on poor working conditions, but everyone knows that’s not always a smart decision), or it’s anonymous stories of ex-employees that may only reflect the Rockstar of several years ago.

Regardles

I’m a simple man, I see a Tim Rogers video, and I lose my bonkers.

Where’s my bonkers??

I know it’s an old argument, but I’ve seen some truly graphic and grisly violence in videogames, but this game, with it’s self-censored nudity, is taboo with its rubbing? Let people get their rocks off, Sony! I’ve seen the flesh slowly rip apart at the neck as one of your biggest mascots tears a defenseless man’s head

This was actually really badass. I want to figure out how all this modding works to play it myself. Seeing the character in action like this makes me want a full action game devoted to Bowsette! Memes are truly the gift that keeps on giving.

“Deedle leedle lee"

Came here just to make sure 'Sebben & Sebben Orientation' was on the list. One of the funniest episodes of any show every, in my opinion.

I’ve always been happy that I had a unique enough name, and was early enough, that it’s just my name, without any numbers or special characters.

I’m hopeful for other people, though, that it will be like Steam, and you have have the PSN display as whatever you want. My bud loves the base of his username, but he had to

They better make a Bowsette DLC character if they know what’s good for ‘em.

We need Lot to run out there and wave his de-sexing stick.

Most un-sexily, of course.

These were the replies to the artist making a semi-joking post about kinda regretting the attention/being surprised by it. The replies are so wholesome and sweet, lol. Especially because they had to be translated to English. It’s been utterly fascinating watching this meme explode. I think it’s indicative of the times

Not entirely surprising when the character could be easily translated into an ahegao female.

You perverts.

Whoa... what?? I never liked the cowboy boots thing in 4, but did the devs of DmC really have that slideshow thing? That’s... a bold way to say you’re doing your own thing.

Oh, heh, I certainly wouldn’t say ‘significantly better’. It was just a personal preference. In DMC 1, he was at times cocky and playful, but also played cool. (In the anime/manga version, he’s played like his 2 version; very stoic and reserved).

DMC 2 pushed the latter further, making the character more reserved and

Royal Guard looks incredible in a boss demo I saw. Absolutely shredded. Swordmaster and Trickster are a must, and Quicksilver was a fun distraction. Gunslinger was the only one I didn’t personally use as much, but I loved the shotgun stinger and fireworks move, and all the pandora transformations.
