I don't think Quinlan is immortal; I think HG Wells is gonna pick him up in a time machine and together go on a psychedelic , feel good adventure with Mary Steenburgen
Ha, perhaps they did. :-) It certainly has a Twilight-y feel to it.
One more thing. The Victorian era dialog is horrible; like they only know how the era sounds based off that episode of The Simpsons where Chief Wiggum is the Muttonchops Murderer.
Quinlan is a special kind of Strigoi that doesn't have worms in his system.
Yeah, but it would have been lazy. Some writers only know two things about the Victorian era; Sherlock Holmes and Jack the Ripper.
A few thoughts in addition to Kyle's review. I mention a few plot points from the novels; I've marked *SPOILERS* when I do.
No, this show has had three seasons of season 2. Season 1 was so much better than what came after.
I hate Louie's design, with his "too cool for school" eye-lids. Just want to smack him.
I think part of the problem, and it may just be me, is that everything felt hyper-rushed. Everyone spoke and moved quickly, and it didn't serve Donald well. Compare to Kingdom Hearts, where Donald speaks a lot, but you can understand him.
This episode did two things right; the dinner scene with Eichorst, and the interplay between Eph and Alex. Alex is becoming the best female character the show has had since Nora, which is saying something given how miserably this show treats women. And Eichorst still commands the screen whenever he's on it.
They better not redeem this kid. He's so evil, he could probably invade The Master's consciousness and rule the Strigoi, worms be damned!
The show peaked early, with the last great episode being the gas station standoff in season one. Since then, there have been fun isolated moments (Setrakian and Eichorst bidding for that stupid book), but not an outstanding episode since the first season.
Ha, good point; logic is not The Strain's strong suit. :-)
A few things:
Can we f'ing retire this picture of what's his face holding that bat with a buck-toothed "d'uh, what's up" look on his face? Is this the only publicity shot The Walking Dead has ever released?!?
