Shield… new socks… shield… new sockszzzzz…

I've heard good things about it elsewhere, too. I'll put it on the list.

I had to laugh.

Yes! Very creative, Morgan was. Though my preference over time would be to snag some buses from a depot and block off streets entirely so as to divert walkers around the town and not end up as they did at the prison, having to re-kill walkers at a fence every damned day. Spoils the appetite, it does.

Do you doubt, though, that this gaggle of writers will try to extract at least a little 'tension' out of the possibility he's returned to the dark side?

No real argument to that. 4.9-4.12 were the weakest stretch of eps by far. The failure to do much with especially Daryl and Beth in their own private hour was damning. The writers should be condemned to watch the first two eps of Sports Night a dozen times. THAT's how you build a big cast of characters and two in

I want to like Shield but I keep falling asleep when it's on.

"Why this would then lead into him wanting to go find another group doesn't make sense, especially since he'd been part of two doomed groups prior to the prison."

Speaking of the 1990 remake of NotLD, I found it surprisingly good.

Yup. I'd also like to see the series show two black characters in love, and their trials and tribulations. It's surprisingly rare on mainstream tv shows that aren't comedies.

Good point, but it's too bad they didn't do more with these characters and how they asked. The three questions were a wonderful summary of how to divine someone's nature. Yeun was scarcely in the scene at all, and Reedus just did his customary grunting. A little disappointing.

I'm in agreement wrt Carl. I thought the actor showed some solid thespian skills when he howled in entirely believable misery and pain when Hershel was digging out the half dozen bullet fragments in Season 2; he was also good in treating Carol's belief Sophia was in a better place with childish contempt. His behavior

Yep, although neither s3 nor s4 can match season 2 for tension and conflict.

Hmm.

I dunno. I find Daryl pretty uninteresting. I think it's the actor, frankly. Reedus seems to have two gears, grunting or shouting. Neither is terribly interesting.

If it's just characters wandering from one place to the next until they're all dead then it's already lost my interest, because the characters aren't interesting enough.

1. Sounds good.
2. Yep. They actually seemed to inch off the chaste dime this ep. I'm not looking forward to it, though I've enjoyed a significant age difference or three, but TWD are subtle as axes. Remember that they could only get Maggie and Glen together by having Maggie pull her shirt off.

Given the AV reviewer is grading on the fly I can sort of see it. The flaws in this episode were less obvious than those of last week. The episode where only Beth and Daryl appeared was out loud painful. In running off Maggie was behaving preposterously but for me some of that was concealed by, in true TWD fashion,

I got more of a 'why does Daryl seem frustrated by the unlikely inability of an experienced tracker to tell which direction at a fork a vehicle might have recently taken' vibe.

Thanks! Great info.
