Also he’s 77. He would be 78 by the time he’s sworn in. Trump at 72 is the oldest president we’ve ever had, and I’d rather that trend die with him.

Can we fucking not.
Nope.
WTF are you talking about? Making a reference to prison rape, something that ACTUALLY happens is supporting rape culture? Should we pretend it doesn’t happen and remove it from the lexicon? Its not like he is saying prison rape is ok.
*eyeroll* This is such a feeble, rote point. Prison rape jokes are absolutely everywhere in entertainment, and to single out Gunn for it - especially given the depth of his contrition about the stuff from his past - is at best desperate and at worst intellectually honest.
Which part of that is supporting rape culture? Rocket tells the criminals to stay away from Quill... using words that the criminals might actually respect: ownership. It places this concept that the only thing these hardened criminals (remember, the Kiln is literally a Prison facility, one for very dangerous…
I’ve noticed that an ongoing issue with Lifehacker is framing a regional/local issue as if it were applicable to everyone across the country (even though it isn’t), often in a way that could be solved if the author simply did a quick google search. So let me try reframing this story from my own, local perspective:
I’ve seen you making this same argument in response to several people and I got to call you out on your very narrow definition of racism. You’re either doing it intentionally or you’re mistaken/ignorant. In either case:
The purity olympics in America need too fucking stop. I am a left leaning, liberal woman of color. This shit needs to stop. This is why people end up becoming the Trump supporters we see in ever-growing millions these days. Nothing is enough. They all apologized. Fred Armisen was playing Barack Obama, not making fun…
My thoughts as a Pats fan.
Right? If it’s a mistake it’s because you say it all the time.
Who says coon accidentally? Like it has to already be in your lexicon for it to be accidental. Why would it be there I wonder.
“I’m weary of building too up much of a cult of personality around any elected official...”
You guys are going to be so heartbroken the first time she has to compromise to get some legislation passed. It’ll be like finding out Santa is just your parents.
He probably viewed this as a low-risk vote. Murder in the commission of a felony or first degree murder of a cop is already a capital crime in most places, so it had little practical impact. I expect this bill was also introduced around the time that you had several cops shot while sitting in their cars, etc. so he…
There may be a couple ways to interpret this. Dude was a Texas Congressman, and being seen as anti-police might have been more political risk than he was willing to take. That said, I tend to admire the courageous stances more, though it’s much easier to call for courage when someone else has to do all the couraging.
Do you REALLY have a problem with the part you said “hmm” about?
