It’s 2017. If you can’t recognize that there has been a massive gradual shift in the politics of the D party since then, I can’t help you. Even in 1994, despite that bad legislation, the Ds were degrees of magnitude better than the Rs for POC.
The long game is bullshit, though. The long game gets you Donald Trump, and a Republican controlled Congress that has more power than ever to fuck you over, with a Surpreme Court that is unlikely to pursue a liberal agenda.
Sure, sit on your couch and let the Blue Lives Matter guy win because the Democrat is disappointing on some of the stuff you care about.
So yeah. White Democrats. They’ll fuck us over just slightly less than the GOP. Now get out and vote!
That’d kind of where in at. This shit is dumb as all hell, but the alternative is a racist child molester.
A DFL governor means he’ll be replaced by another Dem, one who won’t have this scandal hanging over their head, meaning they won’t have to spend the rest of their term ducking questions about how many women they harassed.
So if your choice is between a guaranteed and unwanted ass reaming, or things possibly getting better or, at worst, staying the same, you’d rather sit that decision out and let fate decide? That is some grade A stupidity.
Since when and fucking HOW did the Democrats ignore the black consitituency? Go ahead I’ll fucking wait because Hilary spent way more fucking time in Baltimore than she did in fucking Wisconsin. She spent far more time in Detroit than in the Suburbs.
That flyer is stupid but as I argued with people who let their emotions cloud their better judgment in the 2016 election: voting is not about your feelings.
Someone, probably a white man, thought that image would resonate with black people and motivate them into getting out the vote. It’s as if black people were considering voting for the child molester until some brilliant strategist posited: “What if he was black, though?”
haha
no
don’t take me seriously if you don’t want to, your opinion is not going to change how I talk one, like, bit

OK this riles me up each time: “It’s not my responsibility (nor Carri’s) to change the way we speak about things like white privilege”
Really? I feel the reverse. I think winning allies is WAY the hell more important than speaking honestly, especially when the allies are the ones who hold the majority of institutional power. I want to be effective, not to feel great about my bluntness.
Only a white privileged male could find the term “white male privilege” offensive... Everyone else has bigger problems than accurate descriptors to worry about.
I completely understand your take on this, but something tells me that his response to your suggestion would have also been incredibly defensive.
He used “sexistly,” so I think he he’s most definitely a hugely good Englisher.
“Precisely because you and your family go through life without ever being hassled for no reason, it’s understandable that you don’t see those who are routinely hassled. This seminar is to make you aware of issues you might not understand or even know about.”
My points were made strictly in discussing how “serf” is defined versus what low-wage American workers face.
I wasn’t attempting an “intellectual lesson”.
