The ‘specialty vehicles business’ line refers to what Holden Special Vehicles has been doing since local production ended, namely converting Camaros and Silverados to RHD and selling them through Holden dealers. There’s word that business will continue as GM Special Vehicles. 

Better than the Soul. Less weird than the S-cargo. More rational than the other two.

I suspect the outer lights might have been forced by regulations where a certain field of view is needed that would otherwise be impinged upon by the spare - so mounting little lights further outboard helps meet that requirement.

Hey Andrew, I should point out the last major refresh to the 70 in terms of styling and the introduction of the 4.5L diesel V8 happened in 2007 (here in Australia at least) rather than in 2014.

Yeah to be honest I don’t love his style, but I do really like his attention to detail and the obsessive practicality of his builds. I also like that, unlike too many overlanding people, he thinks seriously about weight.

I drove a Dacia Duster around last year but if you’re camping out of it I would seriously go a camper of some kind. It’s the windiest place on earth and sleeping in tent there would suck. Other than that something with decent ground clearance and at least AWD would be ideal as you’ll want to get off the blacktop and
