Compare McCarthy’s work when directed by Heller and her work when directed by her husband, Ben Falcone (who I’m sure is a lovely guy and a funny actor, but not a good director).

The Deadline article you’re citing states Brendan Gleeson is playing Donald Trump.
Bed-Stuy’s Finest! (And I do mean fine - Georgia Brown in Cabin in the Sky might have been my first movie crush as a kid.)
Best known as co-captain and winger of the two-time world champion women’s soccer team the Reign FC,
He gets credited as a producer because the Dutch producer (YoungKio) that Lil Nas X bought the beat from used a sample from the NIN song “Ghost IV – 34".
The ABC special was an airing of the animated film with the musical numbers performed by a live cast in the style of the stage version to help promote the launch of Disney+. The movie will be shot more Aquaman-style with actors ‘underwater’.
There’s little replay value in a genre that repeats exposition every 20 minutes to let new/lapsed viewers catch up. Outside of a very small number of water-cooler moments, there isn’t much need to watch older episodes.
The ‘take a seat’ light for landing tends to go on maybe 15 minutes (and usually less) before actual touchdown. No one is stopping passengers from standing at any time before that unless there are turbulence issues. You’re telling me that these people with circulatory issues never sat in a car for 15 minutes? GTFOH.
He was Steven Shin, a small role in the movie but an Aquaman mentor turned frenemy in the comics. In the movie, he’s the discredited scientist dismissed for his belief in Atlantis and who (in the post-credits scenes) rescues the human antagonist Black Manta and agrees to teams up with him to prove Atlantis’ existence.
You know that she’s already starred in one of the most profitable movies of the year (Hustlers) and is filming 2 Crazy Rich Asians sequels back-to-back next year, right? She is not hurting for work.
The ratings haven’t been great and typically sitcom casts are due for a pretty big raise after their original 5-to-7 year contracts expire.
I’m guessing that it will be a riff on the three women who briefly played in the last seasons of the Negro Leagues in the early 50's.
Parenthood would beg to differ.

There’s ‘nuanced’ and then there is ‘anodyne’. They are not the same thing.
I diasagree with your premise - like doing a revival of a play, an actor can choose to simply do an impression of the original actor (which I think Foxx and to a lesser extent Harrelson did) or they can try to make the character their own, which I feel Tomei did.
Tomei was by far the best part of the special. Admittedly she has a leg up with the accent as a native NYer but her Edith wasn’t just an impression - she really made it an actual character and not just an impression or a joke (looking at you, Jamie Foxx).
Harrelson had the attitude down but he just can’t do ‘outer-borough New Yorker’. Reilly might be able to do it; I think Dean Norris might also be a good choice.
That’s who I thought was in the picture up top until I read the review. The one good thing in that ep was the flight attendant’s description of the latest uprising - “it was a bloodless coup: all smothering.”
The grade doesn’t mean it’s bad, just un-ambitious. It’s competently shot, well-acted and engaging but the material isn’t anything you haven’t seen a hundred times. It’s a step above generic spy fare due to the Clancy imprimatur and Amazon’s cash.
