Assistant coaches are not allowed on the field - only the head coach. That’s specifically called out in the rulebook. Still would have loved the Steelers to nail the field goal regardless, though.
Happened earlier this year in Minnesota, and it was very intentional. The difference was that Minnesota deferred on the toss rather than electing to kick, so they still got to pick the direction to go.
