This was stolen from McSweeny’s, right?
This was stolen from McSweeny’s, right?
I don’t know whether I’m more annoyed by the unfunny content, or the fact that he “took to Twitter” to shit it out. Or the fact that it’s being regurgitated here.
I certainly don’t blame you.
I am a web-dev, and I’m only more baffled by this transition now.
I’ve worked alongside web devs, though I’m not one myself, and I can appreciate that not everything can be anticipated when going through a massive revamp. Hiccups are inevitable. I can also appreciate that oftentimes there are people within an org who DO anticipate certain hiccups but are ignored because they don’t…
There are a lot of inaccuracies in the reporting here, but give Katie Rife’s habit of specializing in ones that are actively harmful to people, like the time she did that article suggesting Neil Young was a Trump supporter, I’ve just come to the conclusion the is a genuinely awful person.
The problems are fundamental with the platform, I don’t think you want to hear them. Just see all the comments people have been making since Kinja first launched. The team hasn’t done a thing to fix them.
If you are offended stay away from comedy.
Fuck you AV Club. This migration was awful. To say that the Kinja comments functionality leaves a little to be desired would be like saying that the Challenger space shuttle launch went a ‘little’ bit wrong.
Ok next question—with the new site layout, what’s the best way to find old TV club reviews? I’m often (ok always) way behind on most shows, but I like reading the AV Club reviews anyway, even if I’m too late to join in the discussion. The old site had that handy “Find shows” drop-down in the TV Club section on the…
1. Republication is republication. It doesn’t matter whether they’re just repeating defamation from somewhere else.
Kinja was supposed to be a blogging platform. It only got rejigged into a comments system after that failed to catch on.
This is just awful. No recent review list, no comment sorting, constant clicking on load more. I was mostly a lurker but now no sense in staying even for that.
I’m not sure Stanhope ‘admitted’ it as much as he said it was him because that’s the kind of fuckery he gets up to.
As an also long-term Kinja user, albeit one whose account got wiped out by this process, I can assure you that it’s at least as bad as everyone fears, probably worse.
So this is terrible, right ?
It’s not a “fear” though, it’s a reality we are living in right now. The reality of a terrible comment system and quite probably the death of this site.
Well it worked and I’m here and Kinja still... not great. Who is happy with this site layout? How did the writers and editors for every blog here just say, yeah, 75% white space is a good aesthetic, we’re cool having no semblance of organization to search past topics.
I agree - was the goal to severely limit the amount of content we can see without scrolling?
Kirkman didn’t publicly mention CK at all. These are the shadiest allegations imaginable. And another comedian claimed he was the one Kirkman was talking about. What actual allegations are you talking about?
