FFXIV is the potentially eternal winner of the “MMO where people actually care about the story” award. Even back in 1.0 they had actually interesting story and characters that people give a damn about, and they’ve been able to keep that going for a long time since.

I, too, was extremely impressed at how smoothly the Shadowbringers launch went. There’s been barely any queue time, despite population on the servers having the usual expansion surge. There’s been nothing broken that I’ve seen, certainly nothing like Raubahn Savage from Stormblood. People seem quite happy overall.
