The Man Who Knew Too Little is a good lost "goofy Bill Murray" vehicle. More people should go back and give that one a chance, IMO.

Really miss seeing Bridget Fonda onscreen. She elevated every movie she was in.

Batman & Robin is a disaster, but do we think it's worse than Mortal Kombat: Annihilation? Both are among the worst films ever released in theaters.

De Niro had two candidates for "last great performance" in '97 - even though I think he was excellent in Silver Linings Playbook.

Seems like an oversight, right? Or maybe there are several AV Club writers who are still on the "Lost Highway is bad" kick?

That explains it, then.

It's in Zemeckis' top 3, and feels like a real passion project from him. Foster is great, as is the entire murderer's row of a cast (including pre-lunatic James Woods!).

I only recently saw Contact for the first time. I think it's a masterpiece and one of Zemeckis' best.

"Handcuffed to motherfucking hand" (or something like that) is also a memorable line.

Contact, Lost Highway, Princess Mononoke

The RV scene is great. High grass raptors was "raptor eating people" overkill for me.

Amistad is good but firmly in Spielberg's b-tier.

Funny Games is probably not listed because it is bad.

Yikes, can't believe they missed that one. Easily better than Starship Troopers.

One movie that deserves to be on here that got snubbed: Contact.

Love the Jax close-up: "Yea, now what!"

I've definitely seen Annihilation more often - it's hilarious.

Those two choices have not aged well.

Similar things happened to Wolf of Wall Street and Fight Club.
