I'd like to see the part of Ellie played by Ving Rhames. It would be a truly bold casting choice and I think Rhames might have the chops to pull it off. Make it happen Sony!!!

Now playing

So I guess her being Game Director during the time of Uncharted's creation holds no bearing on the fact that she probably asked for those set pieces to be created? Just sayin'.

Bonus video! Godspeed, Amy!

With the way game marketing works, it just wouldn't be smart to do that. You have to start building the hype well in advance, and in this case they're actually doing it kinda late: at most 9 months ahead of release, as little as 7 if the gamestop posted release date is correct.

Key item bitches, PRAISE HELIX!

Yeah, no. There are ways to work in a more creative direction that don't cost almost 200 people their jobs. (Joystiq reported that Irrational had ~200 people a few years ago, so we're looking at almost 185 people who are now out of a job.)

Hype? The Last of Us might be one of the best games I've ever played, never mind this past year, and I've played a LOT of games.

I wholeheartly agree. I game for 30 years but no game or other medium EVER did, what this game did to me. It made me care for the characters in a way I never experienced that before PLUS the gameplay, at least to me, totally matched the awesomeness of the story, art, graphics etc. In my eyes it was the best gaming

Look at all the cry babies here that are bitching about The Last of Us getting all of these awards, which it more than deserved.

And I agree with you. Personally I'm tired of the vocal minority pissing on TLoU because it didn't, like you said, reinvent the wheel. Not every game has to be revolutionary in order to be considered overwhelmingly good. It wanted to do something and they achieved that which was their goal flawlessly. What Naughty Dog

I play games for their Story, I believe you don't. That is why you probably are not a fan. Games so rich in character development are getting the praise of the people.

Love how no matter what awards a game wins or how good it is, the internet absolutely hates it and its completely overrated

I agree completely. The only award they didn't deserve was "innovation" which should've gone to Tearaway. But the rest were earned fair and aquare.

I'll admit it ain't the most original concept but what made it perfect was its execution. And TLoU truly did something new in storytelling in videogames! It achieved what others have been trying to do for the last 7 years and it did it flawlessly!

I love reading the comments of the vocal minority not agreeing that The Last of Us deserves its awards. While I personally would have given the innovative award to Tearaway, The Last of Us was ultimately about the sum of its parts. A well crafted game using a multitude of mechanics seen before, tied together with

ITT: DAE think The Last of Us was so overrated? DICE awards are a complete farce, amirite?

While I agree in principal I think it should be noted that DICE is an award that is voted for by people actually inside the industry so innovation here may be referencing something technical rather than gameplay. For example they may have had a really innovative way of handling the lighting engine or something else

Grats to Naughty Dog, much deserved!

well deserved

"THE LAST OF US"

AND THE WINNER IS
