I absolutely cannot get my foot in the door with these 4-player coop platformers that look like ants running around a Newgrounds flash background. It started with Super Mario Bros Wii, and I thought that 14 years later devs would realize that that kind of zoomed out rez is just ugly and near impossible to play.

The “Nutcracker” move debuted in MKII, I believe

EDIT: WOW just kidding! I somehow played hours of MKI and never pulled it off. I relied too much on the shadow kick and shadow, umm, “ball” too much, it seems.

Lest we forget our vintage awkward 2-D ladder-climbing brethren. King among them, Mayor-rio

I see your point, but Letterman, Conan, Myers, and others would have definitely followed up with at least one question. Ostensibly these people are interviewers in addition to vacuous entertainers. You have to admit that Fallon’s response was so canned and empty-headed that one wonders why he is even fucking there.

Yeah because it doesn’t actually say anything other than “idgaf”. You might as well say “everyone’s entitled to their own opinion”

omg you deserve a prize how did I not make this connection already

This is textbook abuser language

Clearly he’s behind it ALL

Embedding Youtube videos of the ENTIRE GAME instead of photos quickly illustrating the discussed style points was quite the decision

Agreed. No matter how you slice it, it was super sleazy, and I could see the cogs in the money machine spinning to the point where I lost a lot of my appetite for the film. (This is in spit of it’s obvious merits, strength of visuals being chief among them)

According to some animators interviewed by Vulture, the

I like the ones in Kingdom Hearts 1, as well.

*but his Jewish mother got too nervous and begged him to cancel

Does one of the versions have an ending to the movie?

I agree that the audio is a ginormous step up. 4 has some of my fav tracks from the series. The samples on it are so wholesome.

I was predominantly talking from a visual design perspective, as well. 4 and even 5 were still stuck in the square-shaped sprite/tile-work era for Square, while Enix was releasing CRAZY shit

Yes the difference is mind-blowing

IV has a great, really charming story, once you get past the “barely above NES” graphics. Definitely has some of my fav character moments from the series.
