I love Spelunky HD to death, but yeah the soundtrack is really bland and kinda mushy, like cafeteria food at an old folks’ home. 

The movement and the crunchiness of the hit boxes were the primary things they fucked up that I can point to. As for everything else, yeah I don’t know what it was but playing that game past the first level was just like “....oh.”
