I foresee some major IATSE infighting when most of the locals are all, “yeah, I’m okay with this,” and the Teamsters walk the hell off set.

Conjure could be done physically too. Token creatures with all sorts of attributes have been a thing in magic forever. And those are essentially “summoning a card you don’t have in your deck”

A lot of people who have clearly never played tournament magic seem convinced that Perpetually and Conjure could work in tournament play. They absolutely could not.

I’ve thought often of this tweet:

What got me was that the felt the need to plug the PS5 so hard on Jeopardy, a show with an average viewer age of, what, 60?

No, I am aware.

I was very curious about what he meant, so I watched some of that video (thanks for the link).

Thanks for writing about the part of filmmaking that tends to get ignored.

This one was super fun to build; and as imposing and impressive as you imagine it’s going to look, it’s even more impressive than that.

So much fun to build, and looks FANTASTIC on a shelf. The only drawback I can think of is that it might be hard to find a shelf it fits on.

Could happen, but there are a few distinct differences between The Ambassador and the Dome. I worked on a short film that shot in The Ambassador during it’s last days, and that place needed WORK if it was ever going to function as anything other than a creepy shooting location ever again.

I mean, that could and probably will happen. The Dome is probably a protected landmark.

Arclight has ruined me for all other theaters.

Nothing about this looks digitally assembled to me. If this was a composite, then they did an absolutely stellar job of throwing Johnson’s shadow onto Diesel as he steps forward.

It shocks me that there was anything shot for Hateful Eight that wasn’t in the theatrical cut.

Ah... that’s a bummer. Thanks for the heads up.

Love the comic but I need to go back and finish it.

So glad this was the first comment.

It’s also kind of impossible to demonstrate you shopped the film around for the best possible streaming deal when you just dump it on your in-house service.

To answer part of your question - no, editors, composers, and anybody below the line do not get residuals. It’s basically producers, writers, directors, ADs, and actors.
