You know, by way of counterpoint, I've seen a few snippets of foreign tv coverage. Those commentators are waayy overtly biased and enthusiastic compared to NBC's American commentators. Not even close. I'm pretty sure there's not just an "American" bubble.

Howzabout the poetry of the Canada coach in pre-game interviews bitching about "highly illegal" US physicality on corner kicks, then the first US goal turns out to be a corner kick ... that no one touched.

But this doesn't track - Canada is pretty much entirely dependent on the US economy. And doesn't half the Canadian population huddle within 50 miles of the US border or something?
