Smith also won her special election—even as someone less well known, with a very short record—by a wider margin than Franken won either of his elections. Franken significantly underperformed Klobuchar in election margins, too. People tried to paint him as super-popular in Minnesota, but the fact of the matter is that,

Standardized tests made my teenage life and living nightmare, and I hate them to this day. There was a point where I wanted to get a second masters, but all the programs I was looking at required the GRE, which I knew there was just no way I would do well in, so I decided against getting the degree. What’s so annoying

Nice is ultrabland as far as descriptors go, but god bless a celebrity mother for refraining from further comment on her daughter’s dating life.

Instead of people complaining about these same old tired jokes ( I get them in my job too) maybe we should all appreciate the fact that not everyone looks at us as worker drones and some people actually take the time to try and interact with us instead of treating us like a drone.

Eh. I work in a field that we get the same comment. I don’t really care. Sometimes it’s the opening to chat with people that you need. It doesn’t cost me anything but about 3 seconds so why make a fuss of it?

Oh, completely, I don’t really think they should be used anywhere near as widely as they are, and I definitely don’t think they should be used as part of any admission or funding process. I do think they have limited value for diagnostic purposes for teachers, eg, short, frequent, well-designed, well-run,

They want to be taken super seriously BUT only if they get positive feedback.

Gotta admire the confidence of someone willing to publicly admit to listening to Boomer Esiason’s radio show.

While deregulating the financial sector so those same rich people could much more easily hide their earnings through a whole bunch of new loopholes. It’s closing a small window while opening the garage door.

Don’t give in to boomer and Gen X pressure...

Whatever he’s begging for with his eyes, OMG GIVE IT TO HIM NOW!!! GIVE HIM ALL THE THINGS!!!

now imagining an instagram account that just responds to celebs and influencers posting shots of themselves in gorgeous natural locations with details about the geology or ecology of the background.

It was a mistake born of igneous.

I love this comment. As someone who has recently returned to college after a long absence, math is taught so differently now it’s like they don’t want you to understand it. Thankfully now there are videos and websites to help.

I really, really, REALLY do not like to be startled.  It will almost always bring on a panic attack.  I hope for everyone’s sake that she allows guests to opt out of this shit.

whoa - since when is Kansas City NOT the midwest (also, the great plains are technically the midwest as well)? it is literally smack dab in the middle of the country. I lived there for 14 years - it is the midwest.   Atlanta though - yeah, that would be the south.

“I like what she had to say, but I still think she’s—sorry—a bitch,” said a 56-year-old Trump supporter. Another added, “Warren won’t be looked upon as a leader because she’ll be presiding over a House and Senate full of men. I’m worried she won’t be taken seriously.”

I wish we would shut the fuck up about white working class voters. They’re a lost cause and hell bent on voting against their own self-interest. We’ve had two Democratic Presidents when two consecutive terms without them, yet we’re obsessed with courting those five living Reagan Democrats. Those people will never vote

Agree. As Mr. Roger’s said, “Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”
