I did solve that by having a copy of the key inside my wallet. Don't ask me why, but I also had a spare copy from my parents car which I saved the day after my father locked the cars with the keys inside.
Still it is a great way for people to learn on empty parking lots or streets until they get the hang of it by balancing pressing and releasing the gas and the clutch.
