Ice applied to an injury is supposed to prevent swelling by causing blood vessels to constrict and restrict blood flow —at least for the first 15 or 20 minutes, after which the body figures it might freeze to death and then increases flow to the area (that's why you apply ice 20 minutes on/20 minutes off).

Another reason to use different passwords on each system: some sites will mail you a plain-text copy of your password if you forget it and ask for help —meaning that they either do not encrypt passwords or they use a reversible encryption scheme.
