Non-Telsa owners simply don’t understand that running into people is the Brave New World
Lady in the car next to me the other day had her phone sideways propped up in front of her speedometer with an episode of FRIENDS playing. I thought about saying something when we were stopped at a light but I figured anyone crazy enough to do that is probably not worth whatever comes next.
I was a huge fan of the first DL and found it randomly a few weeks after it came out without even reading about its launch anywhere. Gameplay looked interesting so I took a chance and was hooked, and I’ve been a huge fan of the first game and the DLC they released ever since. I’m very lukewarm on the sequel. I think…
They did the tragic sequel mistake where they let their ambition to innovate beyond the first one overshadow the qualities that made the first one such a sleeper hit. Nobody who enjoyed the first game wanted more of the wonky dialogue or plotline. Nobody asked for a more granular RPG experience. These are the things…
I think it’s perfectly fine to roll your eyes at Hasan posting a video of him in his new Porsche. I also think it’s silly to get really upset about it. He’s good at creating content and spreading a motivating political message. It’s OK if his lifestyle is a little hypocritical, because the same can be said of…
As a fan of this series since the OG captured my imagination to the point where I ran out the door and traded in my PS2 for an Xbox, I’m incredibly disappointed in the energy Microsoft put into keeping this bloated universe alive a full decade after the last truly great entry in the series. Infinite is fine. It’s…
I have a PS5 and Xbox Series X and I use the X for almost everything. I only use the PS5 for anything I get with PS+ each month and for their exclusives. The Series X has blown me away in terms of quality, form factor (compared to the PS5 anyway) and value with Game Pass. Obviously, exclusives are the big gap that…
It’s like Phil Spencer’s been saying for years (perhaps in more consumer-friendly words than I’m about to)... it’s not about console sales, it’s about market footprint, software, services/subscriptions, ecosystem, and stock value. The consoles are expensive to build and expensive to market. They’re usually sold as a…
Yeah they dipped way too far into fantasy/magic for me. Funny thing—the Alien franchise made this mistake with Prometheus as well. I think there’s pressure on creators to always be adding meaning/urgency, and it’s really hard to get any bigger than “alien super weapon is going to destroy the galaxy.” So you end up…
Not feeling great about this one lmao. If that sounds harsh, look, I’ve been a Halo fan since early 2002. I just think they should have ended it with Reach and put all the development resources to new IPs. Halo is fun, but there have been other, equally good shooters since its release. Hell, for my money, Gears of…
Yeah I think it’s just the blowing all over the whole thing aspect that the article called into question. I think everyone collectively stopped doing this when covid started. Then again as a (very minor) germaphobe this whole list is full of things I’ve always found gross.
Oh please, Sunset Overdrive was an Xbox One exclusive then Sony bought the studio. Both Bethesda and Activision had plenty of only-on-Xbox exclusives during the Xbox OG and Xbox 360 eras. Even Ubisoft did. You’re just not used to wanting something on the other box. Trust me, buy both. It’s worth saving up for and you…
Sony buys them too. I don’t understand the distinction, other than the fact that many of Sony’s studios were purchased years ago.
It’s funny to me how many people act like Xbox is bad. I have both consoles, the Xbox is great. It’s like people *want* to dislike it, or are upset that they might find themselves wanting one.
There’s no reason they would need to release CoD on PS5 to see incredible profit. If anything they’ll get more people buying Xbox.
Diablo 3 did gangbusters on console. But it’s irrelevant because there’s no “other than CoD” because CoD itself is the juggernaut title. It’s true many IPs are old--Tony Hawk used to be everything. But there’s a lot of potential here, from Warcraft to Guitar Hero to CoD, for some major exclusives.
I adore Sony’s first party exclusives, but I think you’ll find that Days Gone, The Last of Us, Uncharted, and God of War are all as or mostly as similar to each other as many FPS games are.
I’m genuinely interested in how well you can play games that require low latency. I think you’re probably the outlier here. Their console sales are still vital to their success. Streaming has not replaced consoles yet.
Yeah it’s exactly this. People are surprised this is happening, but as soon as Phil was promoted to his current (er, last? Wasn’t he just promoted again?) position, it became very clear Microsoft was finally willing to spend Microsoft money on Xbox, something they’ve never really done before. There’s very little…
Fair point, for about five minutes that was also a thing :)
