Politics is the “art of the possible”. In the end, they punted on Neera too. We’ll see the minimum wage again. They’re already incrementally raising the required minimum wage paid on all federal contracts which will cause upward pressure on wages everywhere there is a federal contract (lots of places) regardless of

Everyone should need to pass the stringent tests or be restricted to driving on roads with speed limits <= 35mph.

Harris can not unilaterally change the rules of the Senate. It takes a vote (or unanimous consent). There were at least 2 Democratic Senators who were opposed the the $15/hr minimum wage, so that was not going to happen. If they had attempted to do so without amending or suspending the rules, there definitely would

You weren’t trying to land in Hawaii in 2012 were you ;)

I guess they didn’t know that you can have different password policies for different groups of users. In any event, that password wouldn’t even meet the weakest of our password policies (the one for our students) AND we require MFA for everyone.

Why the heck isn’t Solarwinds using MFA?

My kids have (at least) Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, German, Austrian, English, Scottish, French, Spanish, Mexican & Australian in their ancestry. So, which

That may be the official price, but I’ll bet nobody walks out with one for less than 6 figures.

Seems like they could just get a private teacher at that income level.

Seems like they could have just done a bulk purchase of Ford Transit vans or whatever for considerably less than a half billion dollars.

Yeah, only that’s exactly what I want to do.  Only without waking the neighbor’s baby up.

Hey, glad it’s helpful to those hypothetical people, it’s not to me, my fob is in my pocket. I’d like to be able to turn this “feature” off (for good).

a) To run the defrosters while I clean off the rest of the snow.

Regardless of whose idea it was, it is damn annoying.  And what freaking purpose does it serve?  (besides making my neighbors hate me)  The only way for it not to happen is to take the fob out of my pocket and leave it in the truck.  Massively counterproductive.
