OMG, yes. If I get out of my truck with it running it honks that damn horn at me twice. And also the alarm button on my keyfob is too damn easy to press, sometimes I set it off just sitting down with it in my pocket. My nextdoor neighbors surely hate it as much or more than I do. STFU stupid truck!

I mostly agree with you, but when our kids were little I still disabled the power tools in my shop when I wasn’t using them. Kid’s brains don’t work right and it only takes a second for tragedy. A few seconds to re-enable the table saw when I need to use it is really no price at all.

I bought the truck for camping and trips to the lumberyards (we have an old house, so so many trips Lowe’s offered me a commercial account!). And you never know what your average (sub)urbanite is going to drag around. In this case, the college glassblowing club needed to move their furnace, and I was happy to be able

Yeah, it’s ~8000lbs and the trailer is another ~5000lbs (it’s um, sturdy) which puts the pair just under this truck’s tow rating.

Try this with your sedan and puny trailer at your own peril:

I’m assuming there isn’t any tribe named “Half-Assed Bronco Attempt”.

There’s like 30 jars of Penzey’s in there!  Plus Tone’s Spices is just down I-35 a wee bit from here, so they pretty popular here.

I’m usually too lazy to figure out wherever my wife puts the mortar/pestel so I found that you can just use a bowl and the back of a spoon.  ;)  And yes, fresh herbs & spices are fantastic.  I started using fresh rosemary and thyme on my steaks and WOW!

They should just fly to Cancun.

For our son’s first 18 months we lived a literal stone’s throw from the UP’s main line. As a result he can sleep through a “dump truck in a nitroglycerin plant”.  Recommended. ;)

Sacrilege I’m sure, but I’m not a huge fan of Lawry’s. I’ve been using this recipe for creole seasoning it seems ok, but if you have a “knock your socks off” suggestion .... https://www.daringgourmet.com/wprm_print/56467

Your wish, my command.

Wilderness??? Weak sauce.  I guess Bronco already locked up all the good sub-names.

Just how cold are your kids going to get in the 5 minutes it takes to get gas?  Are you fueling on Titan or something?

It’s not clear to me how the distribution system would know or care if it is your A/C during the heat of the day vs. your car at night.

Can’t we load it into a vary large cannon with his medal of freedumb and blast it into the side of Mar-a-lago instead?

Ah, right you are. So you could realistically be looking at 1/4 to 1/3 of the current generating capacity. That’s a lot, but it looks doable if it happens overnight.

Here is what I figured for California: 15 million vehicles * 50 kwh / 10 hrs/night = 75 MW. California currently has 80,000 MW of power plant capacity. Every car needing to charge 50kwh every night is probably a factor of 2 or 3 too much (so it could be as low as 25 MW).

Soon enough, they’re not going to be asking. Better get ready. BTW, even if every car was an EV, the amount of power to charge them all would be a drop in the bucket of total US electric consumption.

The point is that it wouldn’t matter how the Mini Cooper was designed when Joe Insurrection plows into the side of it with his lifted Ram BroDozer at speed.
