Right. Like invisibility.

If 1940s movies have taught me anything, it’s that there was an era in which we were not only allowed to slap a man’s face, we were applauded for it. Let’s all bring back those days!

Please send emails to both Governor Jerry Brown and the UC regents:

This is the laugh America needs now.

This is fucked up. Nobody wins the “But they’re even worse” game. This is fucked up and wrong. Period.

So, what am I missing here?

What’s the line? What’s the line??!!

My gaydar is picking up signals. Not just from the photos but from everything.

Best. Date. Ever.

I confess I asked that question once. I’d known a guy from work for almost a year and then we dated for two weeks. He was head-over-heels when I suddenly got a breakup via email. It was such an abrupt turnaround that I was dying to know why. So I called him and asked. I felt a little guilty because I know it’s not the

The expression on his face! That glassy-eyed challenging stare! Am I just imagining it?

Yeah, the amount of evidence and convincing you need to bring to guys like that is exhausting. I often wonder what it might be like to walk through the world believed.

OMG laughing so hard. I watched it for free on my best friend’s parents’ Showtime Anytime. The elders cable password underground railroad is REAL.

The participants were study volunteers, not actual riders evaluating their experiences. It’s doubtful they were told anything about the results or that the researchers conducted the study in order to convince the participants they “got fucked by Uber.”

I don’t get what you mean “dragged down to” gender/ethnicity. If everyone had been treated the same, this study would’ve shown that. And there were white passengers in the study, so if they were being discriminated against the study would’ve shown that, too. (As, in fact, it did: white women were some of the women

Huh? No one is assuming that except you. And if you think that “nerdy techie white millennial” describes the typical — or any — Uber driver you must not be at all familiar with either techies or Uber.

The point is that Uber and Lyft need policies that prevent discrimination. The policies would apply to all drivers, so it doesn’t matter what gender/ethnicity the driver is. There’s no logical hole because the gender/ethnicity of the driver is irrelevant.

While making 20% less.

Huh? You know this was part of a study with pre-determined pick up/drop off points, right?

I had an Uber guy drive me a totally inefficient way to the airport, but instead of getting mad I felt sorry for him because I thought he must be new. Now I’m pissed!
