No "oh chit" handles. Chevy Colorado had plastic caps where the handle would attach. The handles are available from GM Parts Direct for $10. Really Chevy? Couldn't muster four screws at the headliner station?

Agreed. A "Slip" is used to loose altitude without increasing air-speed. Common technique used in GA aircraft without flaps on final approach.
