I will buy a beer for the first reporter to ask him on camera or tape if he will do the fandango.

Understandable, considering the way nukes tend to demolish everything within a many-mile radius.

I have nothing to add of substance, but my friend and I played “recast the government with Harry Potter characters” the other day, and here’s what we’ve got.

Better yet: Every time they bring up an anti-abortion bill in the Lege, try to add amendments that afford massive financial support to low-income families. That’s one way to kill anti-choice legislation.

She really should challenge him to a public debate/exam on the subject matter. Televise the whole damn thing and see who comes across as ignorant. Pick one of the state university profs to prep the questions or just use the existing first year bio exam.

I have never been to a protest before. I’ve written things for protests, I’ve talked about going, but I’ve never actually gone. My wife recently went to the Women’s March. I chose not to go to that also...because I’m a coward, because I was afraid of what might happen, and because I was still clinging to some vague

not on topic, but related:

More people need to realize just how corrosive all this is to just the basic foundations of our country. The longer this crap goes on, the less faith the citizens have. Not just in the government, but the basic idea of Anerica itself. People will give up out of frustration, fear, uncertainty. Actual dictatorship

Agree. I fucking hate that group. And the general sentiment that pervades it, and these stupid t-shirts (“It wasn’t me! I’m one of the GOOD white people! Give me my cookie!”).

Typical smug liberal, with your house having a wall made of a vegetable.

I do not envy these people. It’s raw and sensitve as hell and no matter what choice they make it’ll be the wrong one to a number of people.

After! Also after he was the only prognosticator to engage in a thorough, public examination of how he got it wrong and to adjust his methodology accordingly.

Obama DID institute a massive social program: the ACA, which greatly expanded Medicaid.

I fear Trump’s instability, but I also fear the very competent Pence and Ryan’s policies (getting rid of the ACA and “reforming” Medicare, defunding Planned Parenthood, relaxing pollution regulations, etc.). Republicans control the House, the Senate, the White House, and will appoint the next Supreme Court Justice

I am not sure anything is going to be normal for the next 4-8 years.

No. No snap elections. We are stuck with them for the next 4-8 years. The only hope is that a significantly greater number of Democrats/Liberals/sane people are elected to Congress in 2018. Even then, Trumppence & Co. stay in the White House for the duration of their term, possibly two terms of they get reelected.

I like having a president that’s more mature than me. I will miss that. I madly respect the amount of personal control and dignity he is able to maintain. Poor guy looks like he’s aged 10 years in 10 days though.

I can’t watch him. From all the way back in the primaries, listening to him makes me viscerally angry.
