I always thought This Old House was a faaaaar more accurate home renovation show. It takes an entire season to finish one house. The people involved have a budget, but also spend more due to delays, price changes, etc. than planned. There are multiple contractors involved in every step of the process. One episode even

I maybe get the not being able to sue a co-worker, but seems like not being able to sue your employer for damages is suspect, and leaves employees unprotected

“Just remember that there’s no such thing as a bubble.”

I watched it so you don’t have to:

1) Being cold doesn’t make you catch cold, nor does going out with wet hair, but being cold has been linked to weakening you immune system and making you more susceptible to illness

2) There’s not scientific backing for the “Five Second Rule”, but you’re still probably okay if your

He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day.

I would offer just the opposite. Unless you are lucky enough to find the most perfect deal, now is a horrible time to buy. Panic/Pandemic buying has driven prices way over their actual values. Someone who buys a house right now will overpay and be upside down on their mortgage immediately. Even more-so, when people

Yeah, I was in management strategy consulting 20 years ago, and that was the term then.  It’s hilarious that she’s using an outdated term to sound up-to-date.

Not only is this ageist and borderline offensive, I don’t even think is all that accurate.

All of this to me seems to be someone who is convinced that being youth is intrinsically better than age, and that everyone who is old somehow wants to hide it and appear young.

I have never heard the term “slide deck”until recently. Has anyone actually heard this term used at their work place?

Ageist much?

Also, “slide deck” is terminology that’s VERY old—from when your presentation would be little pieces of 35mm film put in cardboard mounts and displayed on a screen by shining light through them with a slide projector.

And you may not have noticed because *you’re* too old but “Friends” is pretty popular

I used to be set on two spaces after a period because that’s how they taught us in school, after typewriters too. I finally converted and while rocky at first, it has been successful. You can do it!

It is pretty immature to mock your child's dreams and tell them they can't do it anymore

Agreed... telling your young child that their dreams are bullshit is incredibly immature.

Not really. If she didn’t support him, why should he support her?

I mean it depends on if it was a one-off or typical of their relationship. If she was indeed a toxic parent, I can understand him not wanting to have anything to do with her (the usual caveats about Tarantino being a Weinstein enabler who puts his actresses in unecessary danger aside)

So the folk that are working at grocery stores aren’t essential? Interesting, considering there is normally a starcuck inside their store.

I don’t know if you know Louis Rossmann? He is an independent, unauthorized repair shop owner and he makes YouTube videos about his job.

This was posted on a Facebook group I am in. It was a local farm sign that someone posted.

The problem at this point is that even if there would have been a better way to say it the label’s already been formed in the mind of society and it’s just not going to change.
