I don't think Garnet being a fusion was ever really a secret. Having two gems and literally showing ruby and sapphire in Alexandrites diffusion seems to suggest that it was something that the crew expected the fandom to regard as inherently obvious.

I don't think so. The idea that Rose is Pink Diamond seems very predictable and on the nose. It's just too typical - I think rebecca would avoid that obvious trajectory. Time will tell.
