(spring practice)

Those seem to be pretty arbitrary milestones. 275 HR isn’t a particularly big deal.

42.7 bWAR over 17 seasons is pretty bad for a HoF candidate. Posada was good, but he definitely isn’t a HoF player, at least by the numbers. I feel like you’d have to allow a guy like David Wells in if you’re going to allow Posada.

he’s also the only MLB catcher who played his entire career without a chin.

That’s a longevity stat, nothing more. It gets easy to make cases for people when you make combined stats like this. Bottom line is the guy was a 5 time all star and had a very short period of being among the best in the game. He’s a great guy, but I don’t think he should be Hall worthy based off of stats.

Over 17 years, that’s not impressive stats though. That’s 88 hits a year, 16 HRs, 58 RBI as the baseline. I’m too lazy too actually look up his numbers, but this line of reasoning is faulty for HOF.

Oh yes, let’s shed a tear that a Yankee wasn’t overrated for the HOF for the first time in history. *fart noise*

Posada? More like Pos“nada”!

He was a good player on a team filled with great players to get him those rings. At no time in his tenure with the Yankees was he even one of the 5 best players on the team. .270 hitters who were not memorable for anything other than whining like a little bitch when Girardi slotted him in the 9-hole are not hall of

This isn’t a baseball question at all. It’s just that no one wants to have to shake Posada’s hand at the ceremony.

I’m a lifelong Yankees fan and I’m completely fine with this. I always felt that Posada was just fine. The guy was the epitome of a complimentary player. His piss-covered hands and inability to block the plate have sealed his fate.

Eat my ass (again I mean)

He’s the definition of a very good, but not great player...the exact type of player that shouldn’t be in the hall.

500? That’s nothing compared to the White House when the Clinton’s were there

Loosely speaking - yes

the story is as good as winning the money,”

Between this and ‘Bama it’s been a really hard year for this fellow.

He’s got like 8 more months until ALCS. The big question is how is he going to watch Golden State.

He hasn’t been this upset since the Panthers lost the Super Bowl last year.

lolwut. travis kelce doesnt get 1/10 the publicity positive or negative of those guys. he plays tight end for kansas city - should anyone care? cam newton won a heisman trophy in a season proclaimed by some as the best by a qb in cfb history; last season he won nfl mvp and this year he crashed and burned. obj has had
