I swear by Rome. The quality is fantastic. It doesn't have an ace-in-the-hole star like Ian McShane, unless you like Polly Walker as much as I do, but the ensemble is fantastic. Plus it's a lot of genuine history (HBOed up). The show should have gone on for four or five seasons but the writer(s) knew it was ending so

Sucks to talk into a microphone these days, eh?

Interesting. I'm not a Mac user, but the CTRL-Delete and the CTRL-Backspace things are fun. And it seems as though ALT-Backspace is undo. Is that right?

Really? Never had one.

I'm off to Europe next month and my mother keeps nagging me about pickpockets. Probably she's paranoid; wait, I just confirmed it; but it seems to be contagious. I have just enough self-respect so that a money pouch is embarrassing. Any other ideas?

I thought it was just European weirdness. Cannes reactions seem to be pretty out there.

I'm suddenly aware that I assume everything is amazing CGI and it could just be good miniature work. I shouldn't say "just", that's some brilliant stuff.

It's true, it's actually that good. Although there are many times when I wish they'd zoom out a little so that it's not just a close up of fenders slamming into jet engines.

I know, right! With some tweaking, and depending if you're into certain things, you could have a boner triggered, vibrating, wet-dream producer. And that would be a pretty stellar night.

So they're against masturbation, they're against wet dreams. For the non-sexually-active person (and let's face it, if you're climbing into the anti-wet-dream-inator you're probably not getting any) I foresee some serious issues, maybe physically definitely emotionally.

I'm with you, I personally hate Netflix's selection. My friends spent days watching Intervention. Meanwhile I'm desperately trying to force them to watch my DVDs of Rome and Deadwood. That hurts me.

No sir. And every time you try to watch it up here it gives you this arrogant message asking you to give them your email address and region and they'll "email you when our videos are available in your area." For three years!

I don't know. Four of my friends got Netflix up here and they watched probably 2-3 hours a day for a few months.

Good point, but Heroes went on for two seasons more than it should have. And clearly the writers didn't know what they were doing. They lucked out on that first season then fumbled their way through the rest of the run. Ugh, it makes me sad just thinking about it.

NBC is probably the best Network for giving shows a good conclusion. It's challenging for their shows to get past the first season but after that it's pretty smooth sailing.

The pacing isn't ideal. They're having a hard time showing how much time has passed. But what I've been thinking as these episodes roll by is that it's going to be a fantastic show to watch all in a row. It'll be overwhelming the first time but it would be hella fun to watch and rewatch. New people who buy the DVDs

There's always True Blood vampires. Most of them are hot, but it's not a given.

I think it would be pretty flattering.

These are quite the pictures of Mara. The first one has someone else's head pasted on. The second one... well.

That's the true! I finally understand why she makes me feel uncomfortable.
