Every news story about this should link to the new Ken Burns doc about America and the holocaust that aired last month for why this matters. It’s terrifying the type of behavior that people are capable of normalizing.

Daemon and Vaemond’s moment wasn’t scripted either. Matt Smith just saw a sword lying around and said why the fuck not?

Is this a tv set issue? I could see both this and last week’s nighttime shenanigans perfectly well. I really didn’t understand the complaints. I’ve never altered my tv’s picture settings from the default, so is it just a brand difference?

So, Alicent Hightower is basically Mr. Roper at this point.

Paddy Considine, and the writing that facilitated his performance, really knocked this one out of the park. Can’t praise his performance enough. What an MVP. I like being entertained, but I love being reminded about what truly matters in this world. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have family to hug.

I actually got confused at the dinner table scene because Aegon looks so much younger than him that I almost thought there was a third, younger brother who was apparently a HUGE dick.

That scene where Rhaenyra (selfishly) asks her father to help her out is clearly an allegory about fans wanting GRRM to finish the books before he dies.

Wow. I know we all love the epic battles and fights but few shows know how to execute character drama like the Thrones universe. The succession for Driftmark scene was prime stuff. Viserys coming in and interrupting the chaos was one of the best scenes we’ve ever gotten in the ASOIAF universe. And I’m almost

Y’all are gonna let this show off the hook for its wacky sitcom miscommunication not once but twice? Bad enough we had Criston confess his and Rhaenyra’s hookup in this dumbass fashion, now we have a whole war kicking off because of it? Surely there are better ways to complete Alicent’s heel turn that this. It’s corny

I was gonna let “demure” go (the verb is “demur”; ”demure” is an adjective, & while they look alike, they have different roots). But “morays” for “mores” was more than I could bear. Please, PLEASE spend some money on copy editors.

It would’ve helped if they hadn’t chose an actor for Aemond who was so much taller than Aegon. But then again, regardless of height, eye patches just seem to age a character.
I know, right?! They couldn’t even have thrown just a dash of talcum powder into Fabien Frankel’s luscious raven locks to make him look slightly

Last week’s episode is still better, but this one was solid. Yet another time jump meant yet another disorienting first Act, as I reacclimate myself with who’s who of the new cast (while continuing to be amused at how age works on this show... Suddenly Aemond looks older than Aegon, and Criston Cole has got to be from

This was my favorite episode by far. Viserys was weak and ineffective but god I felt bad for him. Seeing him look like he chose poorly for the Holy Grail was rough. Made worse by knowing he died thinking he solved his family fighting but in reality nothing changed. Poor lad.  Paddy did an amazing job.

Someone with his resources doesn’t get to cry societal problems

I’d rather spare a thought for the Jewish kids in danger. You can cry for that asshole

Stop blaming mental health. He's just an awful, racist, shitty person

I don’t fucking care. Man with that big a megaphone doesn’t get slack. Get help or fuck off and die.

At this point, given this has gone on for years regardless of whatever treatment he is or isn’t getting at the time, it’s pretty clear whatever mental health issues he has don’t have anything to do with having his shitty views. All they seem to do is affect just how vocally he’s currently expressing those shitty views.

Dude’s been a big supporter of white nationalism/supremacy, notable hater of “liberal Hollywood”, and has gone super evangelical.

And, the republican party still has this tweet up:
