No, it would make them #15 in baseball. NYC, LA, Chicago and the Bay Area all have two teams in their market.

The only reason any of these things exist is because there is a union and they agreed to it. If there was no union MLB would not be able to legally dictate these terms unilaterally. But because they were agreed to as part of a collective bargaining process they are completely ok.
Pretty sure trading him has more to do with the fact that he was arguably their third best outfielder last year. McCutchen was not particularly good last year, in fact he was last on the Pirates in WAR. Meanwhile, Polanco and Marte both had breakout years. And Cespedes OPS was almost 120 points higher than McCutchen…
“The only people this new policy benefits are rich owners who don’t want to spend their money, and that should tell you all you need to know about how harmful to the game it is.”
Bullshit. MLB would almost certainly prefer that the Giants wave their right to stop the A’s from moving to San Jose, by far the most viable stadium solution.
A so-called liberal using Hayek to discredit Krugman? Fuck off.
Great point, why do people spend so much time focusing on the dictatorship that is currently in power and has been for over a half a century, instead of the dictatorship of a guy who died in 1973? Really makes you think!
It’s funny you make this comment on this article since Lebetard has been one of the most vocal defender’s of Kapernick’s National Anthem protest.
That is so idiotic. Should we not criticize the US government because it’s better than some English King?
How many Americans have fled to Cuba versus the other way around? There’s your answer.
This is an all around terrible analysis. Did someone let Haisley start writing about basketball? To start with, the Wolves have a point differential that would make them about a .500 team. Point differential is a better indicator of future performance than past record is, there is every reason to believe that had a…
The difference between Rubio and Mudiay is larger than the difference between Rubio and Curry. Mudiay is absolutely terrible, arguably the worst player in the league getting starter minutes.
Again, the offensive of the starting five is the one thing that is unquestionably not a problem with this them. Have you even watched a single Wolves game?
Then it would be 3 on 5 on offensive. Rubio contributes significantly more on the offensive side than Dunn does.
This is completely and totally wrong. Saying Rubio is a huge liability on defense is basically Trumpian in it’s complete lack of basis in reality.
Breaking, people with shitty job motivated primarily by the money they make at said shitty job.
You mad? And this is hilarious coming from a Canadian. You guys are good at one sport, one that is way less popular globally than the other big American sports. One that has basically no fan base outside of white people. One that is so expensive even large parts of the population in the developed world can’t…
No body cares what noted Trump supporter Billy Haisley has to say.
Dumb coastal people who opine about the Midwest and the “rust belt” without even knowing which geographical areas they are talking about.
Everything is not economic. If it was, most of white liberals who vote for Democrats would be Republicans. And there are cultural issues that can be alienating to some white voters without it being racism.
