If you notice closely, Adam and the alleged kidnapper look alike. I think this Adam is a fake and this is part of someones plan to take down Hank Asher / the dad / the mother for something that happened in the past. Maybe Hank Asher likes dark haired boys and a few of them have come together to take revenge ?
