Oftentimes, attacks are not targeted at all. Some attackers will spike multiple random drinks to increase their odds and then scope out the scene to see who is most vulnerable. Fun times. /S

When we we younger and stupider, Mr. Werner accepted a Jello shot from a fellow tailgater at a concert. We spent the next several hours trying to contain his lunacy as he worked through what we can only assume was an acid trip. He could have lost his job for that, and it wasn’t even voluntary.

As someone with narcolepsy who takes GHB every night for the past 10 years, I have a pretty good idea of the variety of behaviors it can cause, so I’d be careful of saying the typical textbook reaction is proof she’s lying. When I read this update, my first thought was that yeah that makes sense for it to be ghb. If

Your understanding is not quite factual, and can be clarified by a five second google search:

Nothing about Lindsay Lohan who is proudly posing with the dictator Erdogan and his family on Instagram?

That reminds me, I can’t believe Jezebel hasn’t shared Diana Muskovitz’s excellent coverage of the Baylor rapes posted last night over on Deadspin. It’s a chilling story.

🍅 Trump is a troll, y’all. Please, don’t take them outta the greys.

I was drugged in college and ended up passed out in a diner bathroom. A few hours later I was concious again and was able to speak coherently. So if she says she was drugged, she was drugged. I feel like that last line was added to insinuate she’s lying.

Apparently a school can’t get a death penalty unless one of their players murders five hookers. Raping them is okay according to the NCAA but they have to draw the line somewhere.

Yeah, Diana is doing awesome work on these stories, and they’re rarely mentioned anywhere else.

Once again, a thoughtful, well-researched and well-written piece from Diana Moskovitz. Thank you for what you do.

End Baylor football, demolish the stadium and salt the earth.

I don’t think it would necessarily prevent anyone from committing sexual assault. But to that end, I don’t know to what extent football players commit sexual assaults at a greater rate than any other student because getting a pinpoint on those numbers is near impossible with the sheer number of sexual assaults that go

The implication of the suit and of John Olerud’s Helmet’s comment is that the tolerance for rape - by the department and by the players - is in part an outgrowth of a broader tolerance for using Baylor’s female students as a literal commodity. Instead of a signing bonus, we’ll throw you a recruiting party where drinks

This should be more than just a sports story.

It does seem like a pretty basic violation of Bible law. Deuteronomy 22:28 is pretty clear on this. If you’re going to rape a girl, you at least have to pay her father afterwards.

I don’t want to diminish the pressing need for Baylor and everyone associated with the Football program or university administration to be set on fire but as awful as all this sounds it does sound like the result of what happens when you create a black market economy for something incredibly valuable.

Honestly do we even know what those 52 women were wearing?

The Baylor football program, police department, and any boosters aware of this need to be drowned in a deep lake.
