Eh. I think at first listen yeah, it’s about being mad about him cheating then them making up. But I think there’s a LOT on there about finding power in the black community and in herself. After watching the accompanying film, the imagery is impossible to deny. She’s addressing racism, sexism, slavery, being a black

YES. At that point in the debate, when I realized he was prowling around behind her and then staring her straight in the face while he talked - I thought, “damn, she has ovaries of steel!”

Buuuuut no, though. They’re not saying “you made moms whose kids died of pill overdoses feel bad when they see your purse”. It’s literally “uh this is promoting fucking sad, damaging, dangerous attitudes that will be harmful to those who fall under the influence of the casual attitude toward prescription drug abuse”.

Subjecting people to ideological purity tests (like this article does) is what’s suspect. You act as if the only possible way someone could not agree with Kaepernick’s protest is if they are a full-fledged bigot.

Her friendship with Scalia reflects a trait that’s now viewed as a weakness, but is actually more or less

I like a lot of what you write. This - the idea that everyone who holds differing political views than your own should be shunned/punished, coupled with the assertion that one of the nation’s most accomplished, and beloved, jurists is “dumb” for not agreeing with you - this is not your finest hour.

Why? Or are you one of these people who can only be friends with people who hold the same political beliefs? How boring. And how insecure you must be in your beliefs that you can only tolerate the company of the like-minded.

I really hope you challenge that objectifying talk.

One of my “friends” is actually proud of the fact that she doesn’t read books. I’m just like how!!! It fucking boggles my mind.

Taking this comment at face value, I agree. I feel like there is something else going on there, though, if you parse out her comments a little.

100% Agree with you.

Put a group of men together and they will not talk about women at all, they will just talk about their own stuff.

When I saw that I thought of those types who use their size to try to physically dominate another person, sometimes women as an intimidation tactic to get what they want, which does make the accusation of harassment and assault by Trump more true.

i really like her and think this is a good response. critical but not harsh

To most people? Sadly, yes.

I hate how people hate her. I’ve admired her since I was a kid, even if (because, honestly) she’s not always made the “perfect” decision at every goddamn turn like she apparently should have. At this point, I tear up almost any time I talk about her because she’s ready, she’s kicking ass, and we all know the basic,

They are mostly pulling back from this idiocy, but even now, 2 hours later, just saw Richard Engel claim, “I thought they would come to blows.” Oh, rly, Richard? You thought Hillary was going to be violent? Or was it just the looming chair humper?

Her absolute resolve in this campaign, most especially the debates, to not lash out, not silently mouth “liar,” not kick his podium/chair to the ground and not punch him in the throat... are all I need to convince me that this woman NEEDS to be president. If she hasn’t throat-punched Trump, she can probably handle a

When she kept going without flinching, without stepping away, without showing any discomfort or breaking even for a second while he intimidatingly loomed up behind her I honestly choked up. I know that feeling of a large man standing too close for you, and how hard it is to train yourself not to react. Hillary is made

She also threw in some “this man is testing me, but I’m going to keep it together and destroy him” deep blinking that I have utilized in many a board meeting
