Exactly. They’re not gonna give the customer they buy something from the same amount they plan to sell it for. How would they make a profit otherwise? Clearly someone has never been to a pawn shop before, and doesn’t know how they operate.

Yep, this is my read on it too.

(“It’s A Trap,” meanwhile, just sounds unrepentedly fucked up.)

I gotta root for a film called The Church, a.k.a. La chiesa, a.k.a. Demon Cathedral. It’s not perfect by any means, but the concept is rock solid, and most of the execution is good. Directed by Argento protege Michele Soavi, and Argento also produced it. Not a lot of straight-up scares, but just a nice slow-burn dread

I initially pronounced it like Egon, as in Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters. This was from seeing some spellings of Egypt as AEgypt, I think. I still pronounce it the same way: with a long ‘e.’

I’ll give you a star for the cleverness, but too soon, mate. Too soon!

Well, I’m so glad that Shireen didn’t die in vain. She played an important part in the revelations already shown and the revelations to come.

This, the TMNT roleplaying game and the Ringworld RPG were mine and my friends’ jams back in the early 90s. Such a cool game.

Edit: wrong article. I officially want to say: fuck this new format.

Love The Prophecy. The whole angel noir concept is fascinating. Just the right amount of humor in there as well.

I read the book by F. Paul Wilson a few years ago, before I even knew there was a film. Then I saw the film not long after. It was interesting, but you really need to read the book. So much more backstory on Molasar and Glaeken.

Yeah, and then she went and left Silence of the Lambs off the list, which is a seriously great horror film and has freakin’ Anthony Hopkins in it. What the- what?

Night of the Hunter is one of my absolute favorite films. Not sure I’d call it horror, but it’s definitely suspenseful. But seriously, how can you not mention Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs?

That’s the thing though: what is innocence and who is guilt? That line is easy to blur, especially when you’re as judgmental as someone like Punisher. One of the things that was most disturbing about Rorschach was that he had such a fixed moral code that he would injure or kill people for relatively minor infractions.

Since they’re a mercenary army, I think they probably roam around a lot, which means they don’t necessarily need a fancy base of operations. They can also pillage freely, since they owe no particular fealty to the lords of whatever kingdom they happen to be in. Because of the size of these armies, as long as they

Just a minute, let me refer to me Merc Code books, and . . . yep, that totally checks out.

What they really should do with Punisher is make him fully embrace what he is: someone much closer to Rorschach than to Daredevil, a man who straddles the line between antihero and out-and-out villain. Make him kill innocent people, and then have him write that off as collateral damage. Turn him into the right-wing

For the record, the books I donate tend to be in very good shape. I don’t donate anything that looks like it will fall apart if you look at it funny. (Unless they happen to be valuable, which is extremely rare, I usually quietly retire those and give them the dignified send-off they deserve.) Anyway, I live in small

In the event of a zombie apocalypse, which of you becomes the leader of the group, who survives the longest and who gets picked off first?
