It means you’re crazier n’ a coconut. (Sorry, had to.)

As a Southern gentleman myself, I just want to say:
Yeah, you should nuke it from space. It’s the only way to be sure.
He takes what happens with a weary honesty and a willingness, despite everything, to just roll with it.
I think this video perfectly encapsulates why he was so good at pulling off what Julie described above: it wasn’t merely acting for him. He really felt that way! He thought everything was predestined and he just…
Oh, I love that movie! Yeah, it was actually the very first movie I ever saw in a sit-down theater (drive-ins still existed back then and my family went to one semi-regularly). I was age 7 at the time, I think. And that whole psychedelic end sequence definitely freaked me out. Maximilian is still my favorite movie…
Edit: I see now that I misread that and there is not yet a film. It looks like John Carpenter is interested in making one. That could be good.
Ha! Ironically, someone gave me a VHS tape of that film years ago, and I haven’t had a working VHS player for awhile so have never watched it.
Yeah, that was pretty good too, though again the monsters are not supernatural, which means they can be beaten. Still, I liked the complexity of Pandorum’s plot. It was a pretty solid mystery-in-space story.
Nah, if you want real nightmare fuel, my vote is the for the Nuckelavee.
Hmm, I haven’t seen that one. I’ll have to see if I can find it.
Hmm. I don’t think it really qualifies as a haunted spaceship, although an insane computer trying to kill you would certainly be terrifying. And as the movie proves, a computer can be turned off. A supernatural threat though would be much harder to neutralize.
I remember the original film based on this. It wasn’t great, but it nevertheless impacted me because it was the first time I really thought about a haunted spaceship. The idea was better explored by Event Horizon, but I still don’t think the definitive haunted spaceship book or film has come out yet. The concept is…
Right, but who’s on first.
Yeah, people always say they wouldn’t do this or that in a horrific situation, but when terror kicks in—and I mean actual terror, not being a little spooked—reason pretty much flies out the window.
Okay, it’s definitely going to date me, but I’ve always been fond of this one. Yep, I’m an 80s kid.
I think there’s real hope for this to avoid sequelitis because it was always conceived as basically one big project split into two parts, like the book itself. All of your suggestions are good ones.
First off, I want to say it’s a mark of the strength of the kids’ performances that I immediately started thinking about…
I’ll stand by this as well. I loved the new It film though, as well as The Shining. Misery was pretty good too.
I appreciate you taking the soft touch on that. I might delve a little further down that rabbit hole when I’m feeling emotionally stronger. Today is not the day though.
Holy fucking hell. I’m pretty familiar with most of the bigger cults, but I’ve never heard of any of these. They all sound exceedingly horrific.
