This kills me. And other people literally!

Anybody who thinks our credit rating system is capricious and inscrutable must be absolutely horrified by the “social credit” systems that seem to be popular amongst leftist totalitarians trying to crack down on “offensive” points of view and “offensive” segments of the population.

I wonder what percentage of American workers believe they should be in a lower income percentile than a UAW assembly line worker.

.... it was dumb to own a black Explorer in south Florida anyway.

This would be the winner except that you might not find a good candidate in budget. Probably looking at $7-10k for a non-basket-case.

Some of them do. But in the $5-6k range you kinda have to expect you’ll be cleaning the thing out a bit before you’ll want to drive it.

If you expect random commenters on the internet to cite references in their rants, you must either be very new here (welcome to the internet!) or frequently frustrated and disappointed.

This article and the comments section for it simply further my burgeoning belief that the differences between city people and the rest of us are becoming unreconcilable.

I’d make you a graph of street miles around Boston that are “Complete Streets” compliant, and the correlating line showing the average commute time around here. But frankly I don’t have time. If I don’t leave work now I won’t get home before 7. So do it yourself.

I know this isn’t what you’re “supposed to” say. But...

You can get a reman’d S65 with a warranty for $8500.

When engadget started doing that is when I started reading Gizmodo instead, and that’s how I started reading this family of sites.

Go actually read that paper.

I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make in the context of this thread. However the statement you made here is absolutely incorrect. The state with the best test scores and teacher pay is Massachusetts, where it is illegal for teachers to strike. The teacher union is quite weak here.

CAFE did nothing to help the smog in LA.

Frankly, I don’t believe you. I think you think you’re right. But I don’t believe you.

When CAFE came out, we thought we were past peak oil.

Out of state tuition is $27,360 a year!

I’m continually fascinated by people who not only leap to prejudicial conclusions, but also choose to point that failing about themselves out to others.

This comment might have been true 15 years ago. If you look at what vehicles are on the market now, or what vehicles are due to be retired specifically because they can’t meet emissions standards in the next few years you’ll see a completely different picture.
