Death Valley is nuts, when I was there on some July 11th at 130+ degrees, there was a 27 mile marathon in progress that went from high up, down to -300 ft, to over 11k ft. Like wtf. Each runner had a support car with them.

I’ve been there on a July 11th when it was over 130, at night it cooled down to 114. Had to take out earrings because they’d burn us. We camped, before we laid on our inflatable mattress, we dumped a giant bag of ice on it and soon as we laid down it was just water.
