We’ve taken several 600 mile trips in Joulez, our Tesla Model 3 LR, across the southern USA, so I’m getting the feel for long distance EV travel.

The biggest problem is that they have to mimic the Hummer.

If the cybertruck is an angular silver turd, this is a round one. I love the interior, but the proportions are all strange, all of the body panels look bloated.

The base model EV2 is twice the price of a base Cybertruck, and a fully tricked out Cybertruck with Autopilot and triple motors is still cheaper than the base model. I’m sure Tesla will be fine.

Did you see the price?

Their current argument is he should have used the voice controls.

So if I am interpreting this right (and that’s a big “if”), then the judge is saying the USE of the touchscreen while driving is illegal, not that the feature itself is illegal. So is anything going to come from this? The car is clearly sold legally, so one would assume that German regulators have approved its design.

For sure - you can walk into a Tesla showroom or shop on the Tesla website and buy an actual care that you can actually drive and that does a lot of things really well. Yep, their panel gaps are a bit inconsistent early on in their production runs. Yep, they keep pushing their wink/nod advertising for “Autopilot” in a

1st Gear: I’m no apologist for Tesla, trust me. But Tesla has a solid track record of, like, actually manufacturing shit. Maybe not on schedule, and perhaps not with the greatest quality, but building units and pushing them out the door on a daily basis. Nikola? They just broke ground on a manufacturing facility that

One metric, electric range, in this case, does not tell a story of “technical superiority.” Engineering is all about making trade-offs, and Porsche has obviously sacrificed range for other qualities.

The amazing thing is how long Tesla has had superior tech. The entire industry has had a decade to figure it out and nobody is even close to matching them.

It’s still twice as much range as the VW eGgolf.

outside of a grey poupon advert circa 2035, how likely do you think this convoy is gonna be

This is what happens when you try to jump into a complex technology where someone has more then a decade of knowledge over you. You’re a decade behind. Tesla’s battery charge and utilization technology and knowledge is so far beyond it will take years to catch up to today and by then they will be ahead even more. I

Until their buddy in a Model X standard range leaves them behind because they have 50 miles more range.

Porsche is really piling on the “yeah buts”. We’ll see if the Taycan can cash the checks and deliver the performance, reliability, features, quality, etc to beat Tesla. The exceptional cost and significantly reduced range are immediate challenges. The Tesla Roadster (whenever it arrives) is destined to eat the Taycan

If this is all the mainstream brands have after a decade of EV R&D I think Tesla (and gas cars!) have very little to fear.

subsidizes s the rest of the company. Way to put all your eggs in one basket, Ford. All it would take to kill Ford is a 25% loss in F150 sales to cripple, if not kill it.

German efficiency.
