I think the initial stories about Elon’s poor planning and promotion of this (and the equally strange Laguna Seca laps that seemed like a last-second Plan B) were warranted.

If you read the article by Robb (who knows the ‘Ring better than most people currently alive on this planet) it wasn’t “Tesla can’t do this,” it was “Tesla should take time and do this right because the track is on another level.”

The D in P100D is for dual-motor.

Y’all were bashing Tesla and this attempt for an entire week about this. gg

Reading through the stupid details of this stupid drama, I kept asking myself “Why am I reading this? It’s stupid.” Yet, I read the whole thing. I am stupid.

What is this garbage?

It clearly lacks 2 of 3 ft on each axis to be deemed desirable in the US.

It looks like a Golf, which is one of the best selling cars in the world in the last 45 years. How much more normal does it have to be?

They don’t have enough battery supply for both Europe and North America and they need to meet Euro standards, which is tough without BEV sales.

You saw it recharges nearly 200 miles in range in less than 30 minutes, correct? Plan a stop in the middle around lunch and it wont even feel like you are losing any time at all

Get a Tesla.

Any production car that I can get in teal or seafoam I am in.

It takes longer then 5 minutes to fill up, use the restroom and eat.

Indeed. A lot of the “soul” argument is equal parts familiarity and nostalgia. Besides, Leno has always argued that manuals and ICE cars are engaging and in the future, when there are self driving EVs, gas-powered manual transmission cars will be much like horses are now. Few people will use them, but when they do,

Tesla is working on a pick-up truck, and Rivian will be producing their pick-up next year.  They may not start out “affordable”, but then again, most pick-ups are being sold at 50K+, so they’ve all gotten expensive at this point.

We are definitely biased, but we try to be upfront and honest about those biases to allow you, the reader, to make your own informed judgment. It’s silly and naive to pretend you’re completely unbiased and an “objective” journalist when the very judgment call about whether something is “objective” is a subjective

I think it’s just supposed to denote automakers who are coming form a history of producing combustion powered cars that are transitioning to electric vehicles. It’s an easy way to separate them from newer automakers who are producing nothing but EVs. And I mean, given those are two very different realities, I don’t

I think the Model 3's shifter stalk is perfect. Down for drive, up for reverse.

it’s a very neat design, not sure about the cleverness.
