You don’t need the expansion pass for them to be added to the game. You only need it to catch them. Most pokemon weren’t catchable in previous generations either. You had to transfer them from previous games. So you’re getting your precious pokemon without having to pay for them.

There were poorly executed fan-servicey aspects to the prequels (C-3PO’s relationship to Anakin being a prime example), but it is very unfair to say the prequels were “unoriginal.” It was their originality that got them in trouble with the fans to begin with. Imagine—they went three whole movies without a superweapon

My feeling is that if you grew up with Star Wars in the ‘00s and beyond, you have a radically different take on what the saga and the universe can be. Nothing against older creators, but their movies have this sad yard sale quality where it feels like they’re taking their Kenner toys down from the attic and playing

“We’ve asked for different movies.”

Okay, well, if you just want thirty more movies in which the Rebels fight the Empire, you can have them.

“Han Solo,” is Abrams’s not terribly surprising answer. Then he threw the question back: who’s the interviewer’s favorite? The interviewer responds: Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice and prominent non-Jedi Force user in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels.

Why? They were saying they were concerned film and tv producers will censor themselves. Why is that worthy of a “shut the fuck up”?

And this is exactly what he’s talking about. You’re starting the backlash before the movie is even out. People are being asked questions, they are answering them honestly. That has no bearing on the final quality of the film, nor is it a bellwether of that quality. Grant himself posted a very emotional video talking

We didn’t know any more about the Emperor at the time that he was killed off, because we didn’t need to know for the story to work. In fact. we didn’t even know his name. He was only referred to as the Emperor. When the OT movies came out, audiences didn’t need to be spoon-fed character backstories for them to enjoy

Yeah I def agree. To me a lot of the “controversial decisions” Johnson made weren’t even that controversial.

I don’t understand people’s frustration with TLJ. I’ve always felt so much bad happened in the Star Wars universe because the Jedi adhered so strongly to their beliefs. The story was always the same. They were forced to leave their loved ones, told not to love, etc., and shit eventually came back to bite them in the

Can’t imagine what you mean, he didn’t say a word about Rogue One.

1984 was what?  20 years ago right???

Eh. Seems a tad early to declare this one a success...

It’s the last movie of the trilogy, and the last movie of the Skywalker saga. Is now really the best time to explore the back story of characters who aren’t part of the Skywalker line and don’t really need their back story explored?

We’re also hindered by the fact that the Jedi of the prequels do pretty much every job in the Republic that doesn’t involve paperwork. Ambassadorial corp? That’s why the Old Republic has Jedi, apparently. MI-6? That’s why the Old Republic has Jedi, apparently. An officer corp for the Army? That’s why the Old Republic

Jesus dude, they're lightsabers. They work however Filoni wants them to.

No game is beyond saving. I still have egg on my face for saying that Final Fantasy XIV was beyond saving after its rocky launch, predicted it would go free-to-play, and then slowly fade into indifference and shame as Square Enix moved on.

Your local department store manager doesn’t curse you out and call you all sorts of names when you have a bad experience at his store.

So I’ve seen/heard similar takes from many folks, especially online. I have to ask though... presuming you, like me, were a kid when the original trilogy came out... isn’t this what you’ve been waiting your whole life for? Not the Mandalorian per se, but the “hammering away” as you say? The prequels were such a big
