“Better” is subjective.
There is a lot in The Clone Wars I personally prefer over Clone Wars. While CW is certainly an artistic interpretation of those events, there’s a bit going on in them that’s a little too fantastic for Star Wars.
But, if it weren’t for the popular reception of CW, we never would have gotten TCW.
I’d say it lines up. The batch of clones Rex belonged to took about 10 years to age to around their 30s. It’s 15 years after the Clones Wars now so he looks like he’s in his mid-60s-70s.
