This is why whenever I need to get some food, I just go to the supermarket and hang out by the checkout. I get to be in close proximity to people who have food, which is the same as having it, yourself.

Hell, it’s not even trickle down economics anymore. Apparently, you’re supposed to just be happy to be in the physical vicinity of that kind of money.

Corporations are people, so this logic holds up.

The logic works like this...the government has no right to interfere in a person’s life. But women aren’t people, so regulate away!

One of my best friends in high school got pregnant at 15. She was terrified of her abusive dad finding out. We went to the school nurse who arranged for an abortion at a clinic walking distance from our houses. We pooled our babysitting money for a cab back to my house afterwards. No parents ever found out, but I

Jesus fucking christ on a cracker. This is not how this is supposed to work

The dead end was frustrating, because, as a fat feminist, I was hungry to find out who the original poster could be so I could then eat them.

And how many of us who don't have kids help out those who do? I'll bet you do too (emotional support, taking on extra work if a mom or dad needs to care for a child, etc.) Not shaming or complaining, but I will say, as a woman without kids, I get my share of what's-wrong-with-you side-eye.

I had exactly the same thought. I think not having kids (or having as few as possible) should be incentivized, but not prohibited. Banning childbirth is just as wrong as banning abortion.

A misguided policy, to be sure.

It does, actually. It’s like a very squeaky, very quiet fart.

If a hipster fakes their artisanal product and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Is a hipster’s word worth nothing these days?

Reading all that is making my eyes involuntarily roll back into my head.

Somewhere (in Portland, probably) there’s a machine that spits dudes like those guys out by the dozens. We must find this machine, lest we be flooded with inane conversations about small batch bourbon and banjo / mustache wax.

I have a hard time believing that an artisanal, locally-sourced, hand-crafted, gluten-free, organic, bean-to-bar chocolate maker would misrepresent their product in this way.

This is one of those times where it would be great to have a desk drawer with a big book inside, but the book is hollowed out and there’s a bottle of whiskey there.

I think something inside my brain just broke.

The most disturbing thing about the news article is that her address is published in the article.

By all means, please divulge to the whole worlds where she lives so that the abortion nuts can go shoot her.
