I don't think this one is going away. But I'll be interested to hear what his excuse is for trying to kill her.

I don't trust them and I'm a white male.
I could not get Christa McAuliffe's six-year-old daughter out of my mind. She may not have understood at the time, but she watched it.
I'm older than you, but I certainly do remember. Christa McAuliffe had won a competition to be the first teacher in space. She talked about the lectures she was going to teach. Compared to the scientists, she was an ordinary person who was to have this great adventure.
if this was a white person man or woman , even a black man this would get a lot of media coverage of a officer beating the person. but since she is a black woman this is going to be swept under the rug.
Black people from the 'pre cameraphone era' are calling. They're here to say I told you so. Make no mistake, the police have been like this and worse for many many many years.
Things like his are why I can't trust police officers as a black woman.
Holy fuck.
How are there going to be assholes defending this? Because there will be...
There's no excuse for this. It's not even in Florida (sorry Florida, I jest...). I don't know what the solution is. Better screening and testing of people wanting to be police officers? Regular evaluations? Total overhaul of how they are trained?
Something is obviously very wrong. (To state the...obvious).
this is why cops don't want to be filmed. There's no investigation of this scumbag cop w/o a video.
hush to you old fart from another old fart
The USDA apparently first learned of the case on June 23 (one wonders how, if it's been going on for more than a year),
And we knew how to sit through a baseball game. We bought whole albums and listened to them all the way through. We could actually LISTEN to a rock show instead of talking all through it and filming it on our smartphones. And we hooked up after more substantive contact than sending "DTF?" in a text message. I could go…
Fair enough. My point still stands though. I have this argument with my mom at LEAST once a week.
Yes, I blame an unnamed Canadian employee. (no I'm betting it was a low paid intern. or not paid intern.)
Well it's good to know that not everyone is playing out the usual America-centric narrative in the comments section today. Makes it hard to tell the jokes from the idiots.
I was in 3rd grade and I remember our teacher opened up her classroom early so we could all watch it together. I'll never forget her trying to explain what was happening to a room full of 8 year olds.
In retrospect I also feel so badly for our teachers who had to put aside their own shock to deal with the questions and fears of the students.
Lots of people on Tumblr post images without context. So someone who didn't know about the disaster or who hasn't seen the iconic photo of the explosion wouldn't necessarily recognize it.
